This website is the link to a book titled, Teaching Reading in the Content Areas: If Not Me, Then Who?. This book discusses the reasons that we as teachers of different content areas should be teaching literacy in the classroom. I think this is a good resource for us as future teachers because it discusses different reading strategies that can be used in instruction. I also liked this book as a resource because it discussed what type of reading strategies were most effective in each content area. This is helpful because instead of us as teachers trying the strategies by trial and error, the authors have already done it and have compiled a list for each content area.

Hi Maegan! I really like this resource! In a math and science content focus, sometimes reading can be pushed to the back burner in the classroom so I love that this book offers so many ways to incorporate reading strategies in specific content areas. This book would be great for teachers to have on hand-- that way teachers can refer to when needed. (63)
